Fasting Journey – Day 3

This will be my last day reporting on my Fast Journey, unless I decide to end it, or experience any drastic changes as I continue on. Today was a good start. I was able to sleep consistently through the night. The original goal was to Fast for a minimum of 3 days, and with today being the 3rd, I am on target for success. I must admit, being in the household with two females who LOVE to talk can be mentally draining at times, but I’m managing well. My personality type has been front center on stage now, and I have become well aware of certain things. I really don’t enjoy talking as much as I do enjoy listening, but I can talk my head off about something I have a strong passion for. I have learned how I am a straight-to-the-point type of guy and can come off as having a bland personality at times…especially now with very little to no energy in spur moments throughout the day. I am not perfect. I have my flaws, but with awareness you can smooth out the edges.

Fasting Journey – Day 2

June 20th, 2017 – Day 2

Yesterday, I went to sleep with a minor headache. This morning, I woke up feeling great. Though, if I had the extra time to sleep, trust and believe I would. I went to bed around 9:34pm, but didn’t actually sleep until after 10pm. Through the night, sometimes my daughter will call out to use the bathroom. Fasting Journey – Day 1

For my Summer Fast and Detox I will be drinking naturally sourced spring water in glass bottles, Young Thai Coconut water, Unsweetened Herbal Teas, and consumption of Bromide Powder (mixture of sea moss and bladder wrack) for minerals. The goal is to fast for a minimum of 3 days, but I will continue to prosper throughout the journey as long as I can.

Do it together Sebian Fast

From June 19th – July 3rd (or longer if I am able), I will be participating in a group fast. The group consists of members from the ‘Dr Sebi Information – UK and Europe’ group. Although, I’m not from the UK/Europe area, the group provides such good information that I had to join.

Choose your own length: 3-day, 5-day, 7-day, 10-day, 14-day, 30-days.

Choose your own fast: DRY FASTING, LIQUID FASTING, JUICE FASTING, PARTIAL FASTING, INTERMITTENT FASTING.

Feel free to do a google search on those types of fasting to see what suits you best. For myself personally, I will adventure in liquid fasting. Strictly drinking naturally sourced spring water,  young Thai coconut water, herbal teas, and bromide plus which is a mixture of sea moss and bladderwrack in powder form.

Soft shell tacos,  anyone? 

After you have given the burger recipe a shot from the previous post, you may have plenty of cooked wild rice leftover from that 8oz bag… Wild Rice makes the perfect filler for tacos.

You can create a soft shell taco using the spelt dough recipe, replacing the spring water with sparkling spring water. These soft shelled tacos really take me back to the days of when I used to overdose on Chipotle during lunch break.

To compliment the rice I usually roast a combination of peppers, onions, tomatoes, oyster mushrooms and red kale in a cast iron seasoned with sea salt, oregano, basil, and cayenne. Apply approximately 2 tbsp. of cooking oil (preferably avocado oil/grape seed oil) and let it roast in the oven at 400 degrees for 20 minutes. I always mix in the red kale after 15 minutes of cook time has passed to avoid it from being overcooked.  I can almost guarantee you’ll be satisfied with the outcome.

Burger and Fries

Here is a burger recipe I was able to create off inspiration from Ty’s Conscious Kitchen and A Healthy Crush. In the photo is a Wild Rice Oyster Mushroom burger with a side of Green Banana fries. I created this meal 3 times to ensure measurements granted the same outcome in texture and taste.

With that being said, I have found the flavor and texture for the burger mostly depends on how you prepare and cook the Wild Rice prior to adding it in the food processor with the other ingredients. Allowing the Wild Rice to soak for 3-6 hours before cooking according to its package ensured for a juicy burger from my experience.

For the buns, use the Spelt Dough recipe and replace spring water with sparkling spring water. Once you form your desired shape for burger buns, cook for 1-2 minutes, each side.

Just a heads up: If you plan to cook this meal on a Saturday for instance, I recommend you prepare and cook the Wild Rice on Friday just to get that out the way. You can store it in a mason jar and measure out the amount you need for the recipe when ready to use.

Eating to live does not only mean opting for healthier choices in food. We should also understand, innerstand, and overstand the importance of knowing when and when NOT to eat. Breakfast, Brunch, Lunch, Dinner, and Snacks in between those time periods…If we start eating the minute we roll out of bed, and do not stop until we go to sleep, we spend almost ALL our time in the fed state. While in the fed state, your body is storing food to later burn into energy.
