June 20th, 2017 – Day 2
*will continue to update throughout the day
Yesterday, I went to sleep with a minor headache. This morning, I woke up feeling great. Though, if I had the extra time to sleep, trust and believe I would. I went to bed around 9:34pm, but didn’t actually sleep until after 10pm. Through the night, sometimes my daughter will call out to use the bathroom. Either my Queen or myself will come for assistance. Last night, it was my call which was around 2:20am.
6:03am: Officially woke up to start my day. Took a cold/warm shower, then did my routine of oil pulling for 10 minutes with organic unrefined coconut oil.
My daughter woke up swinging with an attitude this morning. Her talk-back game was strong! I took it as an opportunity to build what I lack in…Patience and empathy. Perhaps, she didn’t get as good of a night’s rest as I did. I simply explained how the behavior would not be tolerated, and why it’s important to give respect as much as it is to receive, ignoring any further talk-back. I wasn’t going to let minor feelings of crankiness alter how I react or respond during my fast.
7:45am: Arrival at work, avoiding the elevator entirely, I take the stairs. Around this time I drink half my bottle of spring water (33.8 fl oz)
10:54am: Took a break at work to stand outside and absorb some sunlight.
1:55pm: Finished the remaining bottle of spring water I had left. It was the only thing I brought with me at work to aid me on my fast journey. As of now, I don’t feel the need to store herbal teas for work.
5:17pm: Arrived home from work. Cracked open my very first Young Thai Coconut for the fast. Coconut water never tasted so good! I even ate the coconut meat deep inside the shell. Since my wife and daughter don’t enjoy the taste, I couldn’t let it go to waste. I then finished the remainder of my spring water bottle, feeling fully hydrated.
9:21pm: Drank a combination of Burdock Root/ Yellow Dock Root tea, unsweetened. I’m about ready to call it a night. No Bowel movements today. Can only mean I still have work to do during the Fast. Will look to fit yoga and meditation in tomorrow’s schedule.
Side note: Very proud of my wife. She made Alkaline Burgers today without my help! We only had half of the produce the actual recipe called for, so she halved all the ingredients. I guess it was best since it was only her eating tonight. They smelled so good! I added the actual recipe to the Alkaline Recipes page. Give it a shot when you come across the ingredients!
